Sussi Hochman, Student-at-Law
skip to navigationMs. Hochman holds a B.A. in Mathematics from York University where she received an award for excellence in math and statistics and was certified as a member of the Chair's Honour Roll. She earned her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2009 where she was the first student chosen to participate in an exchange program with New York University. At NYU, Ms. Hochman advanced her criminal law education by studying coursework in the areas of business crime and the regulation of vice.
During the summer between her second and third year of law school, Ms. Hochman was employed by a Toronto criminal lawyer in a busy and diverse criminal practice. This experience solidified Ms. Hochman's desire to develop her own career as a criminal defence lawyer leading her to seek out employment with Adler Bytensky Prutschi where she is currently working as an articling student.
Over the course of her articling internship with the firm, Ms. Hochman is responsible for providing high-end litigation support for the firm's complex files including sophisticated frauds and homicides. She is also extensively involved in researching areas of law for all the firm's lawyers and drafting key legal documents for motions, applications and trials. Ms. Hochman also has a number of criminal files which she carries herself and manages through to trial or resolution under the direct supervision of the firm's partners.
