Domestic Assault

Being charged with assault is a terrible and traumatic experience for anyone, but the stress involved in these cases is magnified when the alleged victim is your spouse.

Police, crown attorneys, and the courts, are all applying a rigorous zero tolerance policy to charges of domestic assault. Even when the complaining spouse does not want charges laid or does not want the case to continue, zealous prosecutors are being directed by their superiors to vigorously seek convictions in every case and ask for heavy sentences if an accused is found guilty.

Domestic assault charges have become so serious and so frequent that they now form one of the most commonly defended charges by our lawyers.
